Can hold his head high knowing he came into the side with no previous appearance all season. Toiled hard. Showed desperation to hit tackles, ran to get to packs (that spoil just epitomised his appearance), and tried his heart out. Ran hard and seemed to have that earnestness, pressure, and toughness that so many blokes today didn't.

He showed he wanted to be in this team. Great effort. That's what Ross asked and he absolutely showed that.

Did smart things to, knew how to read the game and didn't get too emotional and angry like he can tend to. Was level headed and just played his role with intensity. That was what Freo did last season.

He deserves a game next week. That was an endearing performance. Close to our best on.

Yeh I liked his game, opened up play by foot late in the second IIRC with a beautiful long pass to sutty's advantage down the wing.

Was helped a lot by Jhonno as is customary with freos defence but yes, def an above average performer today

Did the job and as you say, showed some smarts and his customary great effort.
May well hold his spot even with the 2 to come back. Offers more than Pearce and Duffield is in awful form and may well get suspended.

Deserves his spot ahead of "all i do is fist" Dawson. Showed a lot, some great marks and kicks after he was a little rusty early. He should be learning his craft along side McPharlin before he retires.

We missed Dawson and as much as he cops, he's a solid defender and works well with who we have. In his first season at Freo he'd always butcher the easy stuff but then do the miraculous, like some 30 metre run down and tackle or a clearing punch from the wrong pocket. But he's very consistent now and he's rightfully an automatic starter.

Silvagni is a very much a confidence player too I think. So I'd love to see him string a few matches together but where do you play him? A good headache to have but he deserves a run against the Cats and he'll probably get it. Could be very interesting.

Great defender and did a good job today. I note the faster leading forwards tend to get away from him a bit but when body on body he's genuinely hard to beat. He'll never match Luke for foot speed, but he's solid, has more than one string to his bow and most of all is consistent - something a number of our second stringers are missing right now.

Played well, will hold his spot until McPharlin comes back. Will be good to get Dawson back, just so Johnson can play loose man and help out against the long kicks into the back line

I have said it all year and I have been bagged for it all YEAR but Silvagni is a guy that has given his all every time he gets a game and gives a contest every time the ball is in dispute .
Great Game Silvagni .
Its a shame that we had to have so many injuries for him to get a game when he offers so much even when playing WAFL .
Sylvia should be made to walk a mile in his shoe's .

I disagree that he has always given his all every time he's got a game. I remember a couple of games where he has dropped his head early and had terrible body language. I really liked his game today though.

Disagree with that. Duffield has actually been in pretty good form, especially with ball in hand. Today, on the other hand, was terrible, no doubt about that - not sure where that game came from.

Silvagni played well - was impressed (especially given how poorly I thought he might fare without our two KPD's)

One thing you can never take away from him is his heart - gives everything and doesn't hold back. Love his passion (even if it does get him in to trouble sometimes i.e. almost KO'ing Suban and his past MRP issues)

Can Silvagni play small? If so he should be in the running for Spurr's spot when Dawson and McPharlin are fit. Spurr is woefully out of form

He put two fists to the ball when he could have marked too much, yes he is defensively minded but we could have built momentum from a mark and reset.
Yeah agreed. He's an honest footballer who does a single job well but I'm not sure he plays the team defence role Dawson does.

Great job on Schulz though.
