saw it on the weekend. the film is enjoyable without being a masterpience which some critics and the academy would like you to think. thought bradley cooper was great in it (and well deserving of a oscar nomination) so too was jennifer lawrence who was good too (although her character irritated me a bit as the film went along - but her scenes with cooper were solid), de niro was great but jackie weaver i thought was seriously miscast. how did she get a oscar nomination for a thankless role like that (with fake wig and even faker accent). it just seemed like that the academy went overboard with this film and have showered with such praise that everybody got a nomination. its more of an art-house type film but not an outstanding one.
