No way does Gault get delisted Matty. 1st year and heaps of promise, needs time in the gym.
I didn't mean delist him as such, just that we might be able to rookie him instead, he hasn't shown much at all this year, and I just don't know if compared to a Witts, Ceglar or Paine if he'll ever be above, or even at their level. That was my point more than anything that Gault doesn't fill a long term weakness for us, as Buckley does.

If Gault gets delisted, someone in charge needs a swift kick to the family jewels. Would be madness.

Buckley is ahead of a few guys because he's older, stronger and a better kick than they are... but you can't hide woeful decision making forever. He'll get overtaken pretty soon at the current rate. If Seedsman can keep playing like last week then it's already happened.

Young won't be delisted either. They had the option of rookie-ing him from the NSW scholarship program but they senior listed him like they did with Witts. The club rates Young as at least a role player long term.

Agree.
Surely Gault isn't even under consideration to be delisted. He is only 19 or 20. Key position player, first season at the club. Give the guy a chance.

Stat for the OP:
In 2010 he didn't play a game, and we won the flag.
That's a very clever point, and I'm disappointed I didn't think of it! I guess it's easy to forget his "quiet" first year at the club. I still see him as a very reasonable depth player, as with a few others it will be interesting to see if he is there next season. I'd probably keep him.

He'll be gone by the end of the year regardless. I don't think N.Buckley has much time for players who make constant skill errors and bad decisions.

If that is the case, Buckley will delist Maxwell at the end of the year as his hail mary kicks are hit or miss, mainly miss

The Buckley/sidebottom comparison is surely a joke. Just surely.
After the Carlton game I figured Bucks was in big trouble list position wise. It will come down to how strong the club feels the super draft is. Rounds probably goes, ugle might, just because we've got a few guys ahead of him. Gets tricky after that, but gee they've shown a willingness to pull the trigger, and better players than S.Buckley have copped a bullet this last 2 years.

Nope, dead set serious. Go back over the tapes and have a close look at Sidey's kicking. In some games it's borderline embarrassing.

It would not call it Embarssing as he puts to the Right Sports but Might be on the 1st Bounce it gets there

Spot on people are finally waking up to it now the side can't rely on 'the press' role players with poor execution are starting to look more flawed.

The press hid a LOT of players weakness, they are now being exposed and I'm not just reffering to Maxwell either.

No disrespect mate.. But I'm unsure you actually know what a list clogger means??

Buckley = AFL quality and offers flexibility in our list and can play an important role in the structure of our team when required. He may not be best in our finals best 22 (Certainly in the 25, IMHO)

The rubbish that is regurgitated week in/out, that he is a liability, can't perform under pressure, has poor kicking skills etc. Frustrates the bejusus out of me! Every week we see mistakes being made by our so called elite players, both under pressure and in free space but it is rarely recognised or compared to in the same manner that others on our list are subjected to.

People over analyse and criticise the players they are less inclined to support. Players they deem or believe, should not be in the team over their favourites.

Certainly in our top 25? Ridiculous!

Not playing last night included Swan, Krak, Toovey, McCaffer, Johnson and Ball. Add to this that there are a number of players which we are looking to develop and the fact that Simon Buckley is totally unreliable when trying to hit a target by foot and he falls a long way down the list
