Simon Godfrey simple isnt good enoguh to pay AFL.

He doesnt have the skills necesary to play and his disposal and decision making is terrible, honestly i think its the worst in the AFL. Theres no doubt that occasionly he shuts down a good players, but he costs Melbourne so many goals. Like today his errant handball gave them a goal and his lack of skills constantly turns the ball over.

He is fit and a hard worker but we are never going to win a premiership with him there, so why are we playing him?

Its about time that he steps down and gives younger blokes a go at afl level for the rest of the year, and at the end of the year Melbourne need to delist him. He brings nothing positive to the team and so often is the undoing of Melbournes hard work.

What are your thoughts?

Disagree, he has terrible disposal but we cant have 22 players like Yze we need one who is willing to throw his body and Godfrey does that. were was Sylvia today.

Yes, it amazes me to see someone with NO SKILLS whatsoever to be playing at AFL level... hes in the same mould as robbie copeland, only good for following people... he might as well super-glue himself to his opponent so that he'll never touch the ball

Best tagger we have at the moment. Hopefully Bartram comes back soon and takes his place.
Get Barters fit and firing and Godfrey won't play another game.

Also, Ward out for CJ?

Ward out for Whelan. CJ has done **** all so far and may get the chop come season's end if that doesn't change.

Whelan if he's fit will come in.
CJ has played three games this year, bit harsh to condemn him. He's the future.

Take a look at your captain mate

Message to all non Melbourne supporters who want to start a post on this board, come up with something original if you want to post, blind freddy knows godfrey is nothing but a tagger, but ever team needs a tagger and godfrey is the best we have atm.

Tell us something we don't know.

He has never had the skills to be a top level midfielder but his commitment and tagging qualities are unquestionable.

Run along now.

What a future

Exactly. If we want another 43 years in the wilderness, by all means put your head in the snad like the MFC and put down poor performances of our players to an 'off day'. CJ has done nothing and deserves the axe at this point. Miller and Jamar should get it too, as they have absolutely no upside

As much as i love brad millers attitude and heart he just has no upside or improvment left and im sad to say its time to go.

CJ has been in Sandy's best players week in and week out. Seriously what opportunities has he been given. Young players need to be given an opportunity to grow. ND chops and change from week to week, it is little wonder we can't build a strong playing group. Nobody knows wherethey stand. If we forgot about Godfrey, Holland and Ward and began giving more opportunities to younger players, they would be standing up and playing good football for the MFC.

ND is playing for his position. Has been for the past three years otherwise some of our younger players would have progressedmore than they have.

CJ is a good gifted ball carrier, especially from half back. I'd have him in the team well before Holland or Carrol.

Coming from a Gold Coast supporter. Half your team has no skills.

Please don't start this crap, it is true Godfrey has no skills and North just beat us by a point, so it would be wise not to stir their supporters.
I agree Godfrey should be gone at the end of the year, he puts in 110% but I'm afraid if we ever want to win a flag players like Godders shouldn't make the side.

Thanks for the laugh. So how do you reckon CJ will do on Lloyd next time we play Essendon? Perhaps we'll play him on Richo in the 'battle for the spoon'.
If you're going to compare him others, compare him to players he is competing with.

On topic, Godfrey has had his best year for the club in my opinion but as much as I like his enthusiasm, the fact that he can get games so regularly means that we are miles away from being successful. If he was the only skillless player in the team (as a backup) it would be acceptable. Sadly, things aren't that good at the moment.

Before Holland and Carroll? Not only do they play a compeltely different position but Carroll saved us on many occasions in the last quarter. He got about 4 contested marks in a row in the third quarter in the defensive 50.

By the way, with the latest Harvey hit, that takes Godfrey to 4 hits hes taken for the team so far this year, Goodes, West and there was one more I can't remember.

Where, may I ask, is the protection from the rest of our midfield? FFS, some retaliation wouldn't go amiss.

The only person to play on Richo is Nicholson - the only man who he could consistently beat no matter what the occasion was.
