I was at today's game and I thought that it was Simpson's best game and about time too.

He showed something today that we haven't really seen, goal kicking ability.

He kicked a nice running goal too, which was good to see.

He backed himself on a couple of occasions and actually ran away from St Kilda players.

I thought he may of saved his career with this performance...

Certainly was a positive from today and as NavyBlueBlood said he needs a bit more meat on him. Was also happy with Carrazzo today, he looks to be gaining alot of confidence every week, which is good considering how crap we are at the moment.

He looks to be relishing his chances in the centre too Carazzo.

a player with some size in the midfield who can actually run. Kouta has size but can hardly move anymore. Campo and Stevens are small. Walker does not wiun enough of the ball yet. He is an a winger type in the long run anyway.
We need inside midfielders more than any other position. Need some pacy outside players with skill also but not as much as physically tough hard players who can lock the ball in or win it and get it going our way. Then players like Walker, Simpson, Russell and Houlihan for the future can use there skills. At the moment Kouta is not even playing in there and Campo and Stevens are just link players.
Need a Ratten type. A Luke Ball standard inside player would make us a 5 gola better side instantly.

I hope Murphy stays in Vic and is that sort of quality. Not sure Hurn is going to be. Perhaps we can snare Nathan Jones with our second round if we are lucky.

I watched him in the U18s and he is very impressive. Not worth our pick 1 or 3 but if he is available in the second round the club needs to take him.
Very strong player who is extremely fit and a ball magnet. He apparently is a tri athlete and only recently gave that up.
Can bench press 120kgs and does a 15.1 beep test. Only 177cms tall and a risk as he is already physically developed but well worth pick 18. Unlikely to still be around. Has the right attitude, toughness and ball winning ability we need.

While we're on the subject of midfielders, I think there should be radical changes made for next season.

Kouta and Campo (will stay) should be moved out of the midfield and probably play up forward. This should prolong their careers, but more importantly it will make way for the younger group of midfielders. Next years midfield should consist of Stevens, Carrazzo, Walker, Simpson, and Bryan. I struggle to pick a true centreman, possibly Bentick at this stage, but Pagan doesn't rate him. Hopefully we draft Shannon Hurn with pick 1 or 3. he can play center AND he's a genuine leader. Also, he could make an impact straight away. The other pick should be used on Ellis or Murphy. We'll get one of those and they'll both be guns.

Jesse Smith is a possible centreman for the club next year.

I would like to see for the rest of the year

Bentick,Houlihan, Simpson, Carrazzo, Walker all given significant time in the middle. Russell on a wing. Camporeale on the HF flank. Stevens on the HB flank setting up play.
Kouta in the forward pocket.
Betts in the other forward pocket with 20 minutes a game on the ball.

Bryan on the HF flank and floating all over the ground and doing the ruck work in the forward line.

French to take the ruck when he comes back in.

Waite at CHB or even the wing. Needs a release of the pressure and to run hard at the ball.

Thornton tried on the other wing. Livingston kept at full back at all times. Pagan to tell him he has his confidence and faith.

Whitnall to play at CHF at all times. Fisher to play next week and play HF/wing and run all day.

Blackwell and Hartlett to get 3 games each in rounds 20 to 22 and something to work on over the pre season. Just to see where they are at.

Fevola to grow up and be a man. Got the talent but is a child in a mans body at this stage.
