How good is this program!

It's really satisfying to find something on tv that is a little different. :)

Am I right to assume SFU is another HBO piece of work.

Good to hear that they are showing it at least. We've been watching it over here for awhile; we were lamenting the fact that we probably wouldn't get to see it anymore once we came back to Melbourne.

The second series is supposed to start soon, and yes, its an HBO production (they wouldn't get away with all the gratuitous sex and swearing otherwise) :)

It seems not a bad show (on one viewing) but what is it with all the swearing?

Whats the need? Its like 'oh were so hip and mature and clever and we can say the F word every two minutes to show it'.

Silly Yanks as their TV shows were so sanitised for so long its now like lets just be crude for the sake of it. Less is more. Its what isnt shown or said in some situations that can make a show. Im watching this six feet under and all im really seeing is another 'Pickett Fences, Northern Exposure, Ed' with the exception that they swear every two minutes.

Its the least clever thing in the show.

Gren, I agree that swearing in some programs seems to be an uneccessary intrusion but not with SFU.

I think SFU's main strength is it's script and all the language is in context.

Good to hear SFU only gets better.:)

Its not like I was gonna read "choclate war" when I can read this highly educational bigfooty posts! ;)

I missed the first episode but have quickly become addicted to this show. I reckon its the best thing that has been produced in a a long time and not surprising that the main writer was also behind American Beauty.

The daughter, Claire gets all the best lines and the actor who plays Nate is such a hottie. I find the gay brother David really irritating and I trust that the boyfriend is going to ditch him anytime soon.

Ahh, the 'Chocolate War', that brings back memories from my school days.

All I say about the book is that the ending is a downer
