Just found out then that Mark Skaife's penalty stemming from the incident at Eastern Creek has been scrapped due to "lack of evidence," He got his points back and his $10,000 back, however he is still on the suspended sentance.
This was on www.v8central.com
This evening, the final chapter of Mark Skaife and Russell Ingall’s unfortunate lap 42, turn 9 exit incident ended. The V8 Supercar National Court of Appeal coming to the conclusion that, Mark Skaife was not to be in breach of Rule B 6.7.2: Careless driving.
Skaife’s appeal was upheld on the terms that there was insufficient evidence to warrant a finding of careless driving. Skaife was re-awarded the 30 points he was penalised, and the $10 000 appeal fee, fully refunded.
Skaife still has a three race ban, suspended over twelve months for bringing the sport into disrepute as he gesticulated to Ingall from the side of the track. Ingall recently had his appeal for bringing the sport into disrepute dismissed and also has the suspended ban still imposed.
Mr. Ian Percy chaired tonight’s appeal with assistance from Mr. Keith McKay and Mr. David Turnbull.
The Confederation of Australian Motorsport are yet to release the other penalties from the final round of this year's championship. Full reasons and recommendations regarding the Appeal will be provided by 16th of January 2004.
I have one final thing to say....MUUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
