Interesting to read about his efforts today at CHF v Lepitsch.

Do you see him playing in the firsts this season? And if so, up forward?

Really if he plays more than a game or two then we have had injuries or poor form but he is improving and would be a viable option in time as a forward, defender and the odd run in the ruck.
It is a shame he is either not a year older or had another 7 or 8 k's on him. He looks like a good option for us in 2004 if he stays injury free

I see skip playing this year but not till later in the season. I think give him some more time playing for werribee, then let him play that last 2 or so rounds to give him some experience in the seniors, then he will be ready to take the next step.
Its only my opinion and you all dont have to agree with it.

I thought he did some nice things today, but yeah he needs a bit more time.

I personally hope that skip gets a few games ths year he deserves it after being at the club for so long so hopefully hell have a good future with the doggies.

Yeah he may deserve a few senior games, but is he really up to it just yet? I dont think he is, even though i think hes getting better and better with every game he plays.
Skips year will be 2004.

I didnt mean the whole year few games to get a feel for the game at afl level and if hes good enough to let him stay in hes got the height that we need but give him a taste for it this year and i reckon 2004 will be his year.

If he plays only 1 or 2 games that would be a very disappointing return. He is a very good young player and given our dearth of talls we should be aiming to get anywhere between 8-14 games from him this year even if he spends much of it on the bench . He looks the most likely imo to step up quickly.

I do not believe he would be in our original season plans because we appear to have Wiggins and Bandy set as key forwards and players like Croft and Harrison as possible third talls.
In defence we have Grant, Bassett, Croft, Harrison, Kretiuk and Hargrave as tall options plus Harris would be more likely to be used as another key defender if required than Skipper.
Bruton would currently be the prefered back-up ruckman.

I'm all for giving Skipper senior games if his form for Werribee warrants it but at the moment there would be a few players ahead of him. He really needs to get some game under his belt for Werribee. I am also not normally a fan of nursing an inexperienced player on the interchange bench when they could be getting substantial game time elsewhere unless the finals is out of reach.

I have never seen a young guy read the play as well as SKip does since a skinny kid from Daylesford came to the club.

He'll be there round one and will only cement his spot in the ones.

I believe if he kicked a second he would have been a cert for rnd 1. The snap shot in the 1st or 3rd quarters, he just tried to kick it too hard.

Interesting. Rohde also thinks he may play this year.

Assuming Bandy is at CHF and Wiggins at FF, do you see Skipper at FP with Brown/Johnson the other FP? If so, perhaps Guido and Harrison/Hargraves at HFF?

If so and Croft plays back joining Grant and Bassett, we begin to have a bit of height forward and back.
