Anyone else see this story? Two 12 year old girls tried to stab another girl to death after reading up on the Slenderman urban legand. Weird and creepy as shit.

This is becoming a real cop out excuse whenever someone goes off the rails. People just jump to "oh well its other peoples fault for not recognising the mental illness and the stigma it carries"

How is anybody meant to know a 12 year old girl has mental problems? It should be either plainly obvious or plain impossible to tell.

Driving around playing Vice City with that song pumping loved it. Sort of weird that people are influenced so easily by this shit, Slenderman is 'creepy' but pretty sure I was 12-13 (perhaps more 15) when I was playing GTA VC on PS2 and that game is fairly violent, doesn't mean I ever think about doing any of the shit IRL. If the girls are not really switched on enough to know that Slenderman is not real and no they do not have to murder a friend, then perhaps their is good reason for parents watching what their children do on the internet well into their teen years...
