I haven't, but I know that you meant Slenderman.

Watch out now, he hates people misspelling his name and will now come get you.

12 year olds WTF

I hate to sound like a Helen Lovejoy but perhaps parents should better monitor their CHILD's internet activity.

Obviously there's something seriously wrong with those girls, lock em away!

Sexually?

Nah I was into Ms Pacman sexually though.

She was pretty hot for an 80s video game character.

this quote from the guy defending the website/horror story thing annoys me

“We live in a culture with a very unhealthy relationship with mental illness. People with mental health issues are frequently dismissed, shamed and, and often ignored or denied necessary treatment.”

This is becoming a real cop out excuse whenever someone goes off the rails. People just jump to "oh well its other peoples fault for not recognising the mental illness and the stigma it carries"

How is anybody meant to know a 12 year old girl has mental problems? It should be either plainly obvious or plain impossible to tell.

She was pushed in this direction because she was allowed access to some really ****ed up stuff.

Some history on Slenderman

In the myth, Slenderman has many origins: Germany’s Black Forest. Ancient Egypt. Cave paintings in Brazil purportedly depict his movements.

In real life, the story begins in the forums of Something Awful, a humour site for people who enjoy joking about things like Dungeons & Dragons, pr0n and 3-D printers.

Slenderman is hardly ****** up stuff.

Not for any rational thinking adult, but a 12 year old mind is easily impressionable especially with horror stuff

The idea that this is the kind of stuff 12 year olds are 'getting involved with' is pretty strange, not something any previous generation has dealt with

When I was 12 it was 1980.

This was the song...

Driving around playing Vice City with that song pumping  loved it. Sort of weird that people are influenced so easily by this shit, Slenderman is 'creepy' but pretty sure I was 12-13 (perhaps more 15) when I was playing GTA VC on PS2 and that game is fairly violent, doesn't mean I ever think about doing any of the shit IRL. If the girls are not really switched on enough to know that Slenderman is not real and no they do not have to murder a friend, then perhaps their is good reason for parents watching what their children do on the internet well into their teen years...

That Nick Cave has a lot to answer for.
