As far as Fremantle has come there is still elements in their game that reminds me of the dark days.
The inability to hit targets and poor decisions making, not to mention players not performing.
Headland again is under performing and I think time has run out for Waterhouse.
My opinion is Waterhouse out McPharlin in.
And the likes of Medhurst and Headland told they cant play well every second game and disapear the other games.
Also its time for the periodic rotation to come to an end, these guys are athletes and can run out of the ground, I am sick to death of star players been dragged when we need them most.

I think Waterhouse will be dropped for this inept display. McPahrlin will come in , Hayden will be back nect wee & other players should just be revved at !!

Your a bit unfair on Medhurst.
We're really falling down in the midfield and across half forward. When the ball does get inside the forward 50, it's usually bombed long and high and not kicked to a lead.

Your right about old habits though, it seems that when we play away, we don't even have enough skill to kick to simple leads.

I think with the game gone Chris should try and actually address some of the problems regarding clearances and instruct the boys to play a more man on man game rather than our more offensive style. While when this style is working, we kick alot of goals and it looks good, when we're making the amount of errors we've made today it creates alot of space for the opposition and a real lack of pressure on the rebound.

Well at the end of the day Port were the superior team . They showed our young kids a football lessont hey should learn from & inspire them to inflict that upon others.
A real good reality check for the boys and it shows them where their really at. We slip down to 5th with our next 2 games V Geelong at home & Hawthorn in Tassie

Well, I didn't think the signs were too bad even though we lost by 49. Atleast we were in the game for a while.

Thornton looks alright as a defender, good to see Croad find a bit of the ball in the first 3 quarters, Longmuir looked dangerous every time the ball went forward. Haddrill was awesome. Siegert didn't look too bad either.

Headland still doesn't look completely fit to me and Pavlich played his worst game in a while.

Our players should learn a lot from this and will be better for the run.

We are a season off beating very good sides away (maybe two) but considering where we have come from you cant be too sad about that.

I find it hard to believe that Waterhouse is still in the side. His decision making errors are costly and he is well passed his best.

Thornton, without setting the world on fire, didn't do too much wrong in defence. I'm not sure whether he'll be able to regain his spot with McPharlin, Hayden and Parker coming back in though.

I thought Woods, McManus and Carr were probably our best players and Haddrill was solid in defence even though Cornes had 19 possessions. Polak did alright but it is too much too ask an 84kg, second year player to play on a 96kg in-form champion.

Our turnovers in the middle and lack of accountability really cost us. Pavlich played one of his worst games and Headland was again very quiet.

We were killed in the hard ball gets which further suggests we need another tough in-and-under midfielder of the ilk of Coughlan, Hayes or Black.

I'd agree with that. Due to our attacking syle of play, our midfield is exposed when we turn the ball over which makes them look unaccountable.

a few hours after the game and putting it all into perspective. We werent all that bad today . Certain elements of our game faltered badly but it was good to see our very young kids doing there job.
A real good learning experience

I'm not overly upset as I'm looking at the big picture, we have alot of work to do, but then who what have thought we would have been 7 - 4 at this moment.

As far as I'm concerned, leave JLo on the full forward line and Sandilands should be kept as a ruck / forward pocket option.

Thornton was good and Siegert did what was asked of him.

I watched McPharlin in the second half of the Gummies game. The Gummies were worse than pathetic and I felt Mc looked ok, but was just marking time for his recall to senior football.
