The biggest problem with richmond over the last 10 years is that we give key roles to slow players.
1) Nobel. In this day and age of football, surely hit outs must be secondary to getting the ball around the ground.
Nobels opponent ran off of him all day.
2) Chaffey. Whoever thought to give this dinosaur more responsibility when he was struggling for pace at half back, please reconsider.
By giving both of these players key roles, we were exposed by the pace of the geelong midfield. Actually we would have been exposed against a team of snails.. But that is another story.
I cant understand why people are surprised geelong ran free on the weekend. All it takes is two players who cant man up and it is all over.
Throw in the likes of campbell and kellaway who r also very slow. Then throw in newman who cant kick coming further up the ground when he should be a negative defender. Throw in the negative role tivendale plays when clearly he is an attacking player.
And the recipe is there for a thumping every week.
Dont forget the uninspiring 40 gamer captain whose disposal is attrocious more often than not.
