Yes we just need to get some speed into the side in all areas .
Must focus on with top picks and rookies type picks
Certainly need to a chance on a cheap trade to get a crumbing fwd.
Jaensch onto a wing or fwd is a must and as suggested by another poster give Tyson a couple of games up forward.
But please please get Petrenko out of there . Has no idea

Must admit that I was jealous watching saints v carlton last night. Betts, Yarran and Gartlett just move with so much speed and agility. Gartlett will be a great player. He is skinny as a rake but when you're as fast as him, who cares. If only the crows could get one of these guys in a trade but Carlton wouldnt even consider!

They are almost changing the way a forward structure is set up. Against Geelong, they put 3 small forwards up against the tall geelong defense and just ran them off their feet.

At the same time these 3 players are likely to go missing under finals pressure. When the heat is on in them games, long to big forwards win you games.

We need a genuine Small crumbing forward. There are plenty of them available late in the draft. You saw Garlett, Betts and Yarran. It's pretty much essential to have one in your side- especially no a days since goals can be so hard to come by. Getting a cheap 2 or 3 goals a game will help immensely. At the moment we've got no genuine specialist small forwards. Porps could be counted as one but I'd like to think he'd push into the midfield soon. Petrenko isn't a genuine small forward. He doesn't have the natural goal sense/smartness which guys like Betts/Milne/Nahas possess. Douglas is more of a HFF/wing type IMO. Again, not a genuine small forward.

It's not that hard to find them- many quality ones are taken late in the draft as usually they're passed over because they are so small. They're a must for any side now and in the modern day footy its pretty much speed kills. The Yarren, Betts, Garlett combo just cuts through the zones teams put up. They run at the defence and burn them off- something we can't do as we don't have pure leg speed nor the quick ball movement.

Porps is in the same basket as Johncock. Both would make great midfielders if they could ever build up a big enough tank to play in the guts. Neither will ever achieve that tank. Therefore, Porps will remain a forward who does the occasional cameo in the midfield, while Johncock remains a seriously damaging small defender.

Does Garlett from Carlton have a brother? That guy is a gun and still only a rookie. That is exactly what we need.
i always thought Cruize Garlett was his twin brother or something, but there's a 5 month gap, so he isn't, though he's not as good as Jeff anyway, who is cousin of Franklin.

He's just never really had a pre-season which hasn't been injury interupted. I think he can play a part role in the midfield which is better than nothing. Similar to what Collingwood have done to Didak/Davis. Just given them bits of game time in the midfield. Even Lecras is pushing more and more into the midfield. Would add some real class to our midfield mix.

Their seems to be a multitude of quality small forwards in the competition yet we can't seem to find any. I wonder if it has something to do with NC's dislike for players with flair and his obssession with discipline.
