Anyone using this?

Someone mentioned it in, Foxtel -How Atrocious has It Become Year after Year? thread, but for the life of me I can't find the post again, it looks like it's been deleted.

Anyway, it's an app on both of my Samsung smart tv's. I've signed up, $18USD/$25.98 per month at the current exchange rate.

It has 1000s of channels on it from all over the world but predominantly UK and USA, therefore there are 100s of sports channels including NFL, NBA, NHL, I couldn't see any MLB on there. There are individual team channels for each team in these 3 competitions.
There are a few F1 channels, an AFL/NRL channel, other motor sports. Fight Network and ESPN 1 and 2. EPL, Scottish Premier League, I'm sure there are other European leagues on there too.

There are 100s of movie channels and there are also 100s of movies that have been uploaded onto it, we watched Bohemian Rhapsody last night and I watched First Man the other day (I had seen this one in the cinema), A Star is Born is on there for my wife to watch when she can.

HBO and HBO2, AMC (The Walking Dead).

All the usual channels that we get here on Foxtel seem to be on there, all the Discovery channels plus a couple of extra ones all the NatGeo channels, there's a NASA channel, Smithsonian channel, all the Disney and Nickelodian channels.

Showcase (Game of Thrones), TLC, Space, E! channel, History, Comedy, Hallmark, CNN, Al Jazeera, local news from just about every major US city,

100s of music channels

UK channels 4 and 5 and 4SEVEN and 5STAR

Cartoon channels.

154 Canadian channels.

70 Australian channels. This is the free to air channels and their digital ones from each state capital.

A lot of the US channels are on there a few times each, I guess to cater for the different time zones.

I guess some questions I have for anyone else on here that is using it are :

1. Is there an easy way to navigate the channels? I see I can mark them as a favourite, but can I then bring up a list of my favourites only.
2. Is there an easy way to get programme guides for varying time zones / countries or is it a matter of finding them on line?
3. Is there any way to record programs off it?

I've just be able to save favourites, which are now sitting in their own folder, so that's a start, the navigation part is taken care of.

Think it might have been the Kayo thread? That's where I saw it mentioned.

Seeing that logo, I remember seeing that a long time ago on my LG in their app store. As mentioned earlier, very strange that something which definitely wouldn't be legal is an official app. Wouldn't mind checking it out one day with a prepaid credit card.

What is the quality like?

The quality is top notch, I've saved my favourites to a folder so I can navigate much better but it seems with a few of them that what comes up down the bottom for what is streaming doesn't match with what is actually on the screen. They mention that it's aimed at ExPats.

Definitely not legal. The 2 apps you have mentioned in the title are different. Smart iptv is on the samsung tv, totally legal and explicitly says on it's web page it comes with no channels and has no info on getting them.

https://siptv.app/news/

The 2nd ap is HD IPTV. This gives you the access to the channels (illegally) which you then put into the legal app. Seems from reading above when you sign up for the free trial of the legal app, you received an email from the illegal channels to put into it. Great value but there would be a risk using it, although probably no more than downloading. This is their page and I doubt you'll find any reference to Smart iptv (the one on the tv) on it.

Edit. Had a look and they do refer to Smart iptv, but they are definitely not linked (legally at least).
