Smart Phone prepaid options?

So in a fit of largesse and frustration with my old phone, I recently sprung for a shiny new Blackberry Bold. It's a beautiful piece of technology, it looks great, I love the features, the video quality on there is frighteningly good, but the only problem is at the moment I am just using it as a phone, no net, no email.

I hate being locked into plans, but I want to set it up so I can use all the features.

Can that be done via prepaid, or is it ridiculously more expensive that way? what's the best option? who should I be talking.
