Jono who?
Hope tonight is a sign of things to come because were going to need him badly. I dont like to think what would have happened without him so i propose a toast to the man!

great game, his marking is rock solid, he struggled to pick up the pace of the game in the first 10 minutes, but after that was awesome against a very good opponent in J.Brown

Cheers to the SNOS

I was sitting at the other end of the ground, but I'm pretty sure I saw Hymie Silvagni out-muscle Brown on a few occasions. It was nice to see.

He played Brown really well, he actually avoided getting in too many wrestling contests with him. Not that Brown had many opportunities in the 2nd half, but when he did Silvagni generally outplayed him.

Biggest positive from the game IMO.

Not in a million years would I of predicted he would step straight back in and play as good as he did. No pre-season, underdone and only with a half game in reserves and he was one of our best. But unforunately now he has got a lot of pressure on him.

I challenge any one here to find a club that has had anywhere near as many injuries as we have this year. It seems whenever we get a really good player back we lose a similar type of player

In Silvagni Out Mcpharlin

Hawthorn!

He was bloody brilliant. If we can get he, Grover, McPharlin, Suban, Ibbo & Rodger all out there it leaves Broughts & Ibbo for the midfield and we should be able to hold most teams to a reasonable score.

Well deserved toast. His third quarter, where he pantsed Brown in 3 or 4 one on ones was stellar. Even one of those contests going the other way could have seen a very different result. I just wish he could have taken that hanger. Well done, SNOS!!

Hawthorn!

who of hawthorns injured are vital?

roughead??? maybe, im still not sold on him, since 08 he has been largely a disappointment

rioli? definetly, although he is only missing for a couple of weeks'

stratton? yes, structurally i agree

gilham? meh, he is ok, but no match winner

we have sandi, balla, mcpharlin, morabito, barlow and mundy...... all except mora are in our top 10 players.... that is the difference. hawthorn can make up for a gilham... we cant make up for a mcpharlin etc etc etc

was a great comeback, but he was helped with the supply being cut off.

We need a settled back six to be any sort of threat though

My thoughts exactly, he was unbelievably good, really showed how smart a player he is. Great game, so impressed and just amazed he got up to speed so quickly.

And this. No doubt he was VITAL to our win because that third quarter was an arm-wrestle and our ability to hold them off set up the last quarter dominance.

Pav was 'Super', Broughton pivotal in his up and down the ground play, but SNOS was the next most important player on the night. Thank goodness we had him available.

Had it all over Brown when McPharlin went off. Yes, the supply seemed cut off for Brown, but I don't think Brown was able to get in positions that allowed Brisbane to have their release kick. So often they go to him. Silvagni beat him early and Brown had to work harder to get the ball.

Was worried when it seemed they rushed him back just like with Barlow an Mzungu.
But geez was so important that they did coz with mcpharlin going down Brown could of single handedly won the game.

Fantastic game from him early.
An then when being switched onto Brown he did a awesome job.

Great comeback, great game.
Plz stay healthy.

He WILL be our fullback for years to come, this '3rd tall' stuff might be good for a youngster on an apprenticeship but SNOS has always shown quality in our backline. He's a blue chipper and tonight's performance after a horror start to the year underlines that.

Start of the season I considered him our 2nd most important defender and we've missed him massively this season. Great game back from him, his preparation wasn't great but it didn't seem to affect him too badly.

****ing gun- that's all I have left to say on him :thumbsu:
