Brilliant and underrated band. Good lyrics too.

The last 5-6 minutes of this song (it's actually three blended in one), is one of the best pieces of music I have heard. Amazing track.

The only songs I've ever heard on the radio are Chasing Cars, Open Your Eyes & Run, never heard any of their stuff on the radio.

I agree about KoL, Because of the Times and Aha Shake Heartbreak are great albums.

I was in the UK when Final Straw was released and that's when they really became massive over there.

Still like their stuff but Final Straw is far and away their best album.

Didn't like Chasing Cars at all and it getting flogged on radio/tv is probably enough to turn a lot of people off them.

Used to love Final Straw... but a combination of my music tastes changing and Snow Patrol releasing Chasing Cars was the end of it for me.

Agree with the comments about Final Straw as an album - class. Run is truly a masterpiece of a song and when it is sung live.............goosebumps.

But yeah, the band itself I think lost thier way a bit. To be fair, I don't think they released Chasing Cars as a song to be flogged on TV and radio. That song is probably one of thier worst and the Eyes Open album was pretty weak. A Hundred Million Suns was pretty good without getting the commercial success.

The new album Fallen Empires I actually think isn't too bad. There is a few weaker songs but it is a return to some of thier better work. If they don't write songs to be commercially big, they are at thier best

Put them in the same bracket as Keane/Coldplay/Travis etc.

OK but not terrific.

I've always liked Run.

A band that promises a lot and seems to deliver a lot of the same old.
Something they do have in common with Coldplay and co.

I don't mind horrible as long as it a new type of horrible and not just the same old horrible.
Their last album was just about un-listenable.

Everything else is meh, but there's something special about the atmospheric build up and release of 'Open Your Eyes'.

Excellent melody.
