Half time of Tim Fleming's first game and he has already "Mark Yeatsed" Paul Hazelby and hurt another Docker with a ferocious attack on the footy. Last year's bizarre drafting logic suddenly becomes clear.

Maybe we finally have a hard head nutjob battering ram to call our own?

Unfortunately I'm not watching the game, but Fleming looks alright does he Foxtrot?

He played a sensational game for his first in the side. 2 goals and made his prescence felt with some tough play against the opposition. It was great to hear after the game that it was the best feeling he's ever felt and he has a stack of respect for Cambo - so good to hear.

Bit hard to tell with the conditions being so crappy but he certainly threw himself about with some vigour - he stood out in that respect. With the aim of our recent recruiting being to toughen the side up I can see why we went for him over a mid draft kid.

I'm crossing my fingers that he can hold his own skill wise on a dry day - the next thing the side needs to work on is it's use of the footy and according to those player profiles Oh My Hat was posting recently Fleming is only so so.

For now I'm just stoked to see a no holds barred tough guy in teh yellow and black.

When he kicked his first goal, every single Tiger player went up and congratulated him. Great Team SPIRIT!!

and was also sent forward with campbo to lead the team off.

Yep, I thought that was very nice to see those 2 lead the team off. 2 players both at different stages of their careers doing the Tiger guernsey proud.

Cambo, you're a champ.

Fleming was brilliant i thought with his attack on the body and the ball, adds that same toughness that Duncan supplies only more vigour at the opponent. Will be our hard man who physically upsets opposition, only now we have to see him on the Telstra Dome surface to see what his skills are like. I heard that all the players were rapt to see him get a chance because his attitude over the preseason was second to none and they all believe he can offer us something!

Now that we have him, goodbye Kingy hello Richo for next week and we are all set!!

Campbo got chaired for a little of the way, though he jumped down pretty quickly. He admitted on radio later on that he was embarrased by it and thought that being chaired off should be reserved only for retiring champions, not players knocking up another milestone.

attack on the footy

I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses because I'm not but it wasn't an attack on the footy at all, it was at attack on a player who wasn't even in the play. What a thug. If we sent in someone off the bench to clean up Coughlan like Fleming did, you would be equally as dirty.

I thought the other incident I referred to where a Docker (can't recall who) got up gingerly was as a result of a ferocious attack on the footy from Fleming - admittedly I haven't seen a replay of that.

As I said on the main board - the Hazelby incident stretched the boundaries of fair play but that sort of mongrel is an ingredient all successful sides have had over the years and we have been without. I sympathise with Hazelby, and wouldn't complain if Fleming was suspended but ultimately it's a potential positive for the Tigers.

I'd be happier if I knew we had a few guys with Flemings aggro that could even the score.

Good luck! If someone did try and send someone on to clean up Coughlan, they would most likely come off second best! You would have more luck trying to clean up a Kellaway!
