None of you have played Fifa Manager i'm guessing?

Does Football Manager still have those little circles to represent the players or have they added in 3D models of the players actually playing the game?

Mods please ban Kerrby.

Who cares what the players look like? It used to be only text based and I loved it then, absolutely loved it. Infact I was even more addicted to the game when it was just text commentary flashing up on the screen.

The CM/FM series is easily the best football management series of all time, and possibly my favourite gaming series ever too.

Different generation, would be like comparing music tastes in some ways.

Football Manager easily. FIFA Manager is crap you may as well just play FIFA 09, the management mode there has just as much depth.

If you want to watch great realistic looking graphics of soccer go with FIFA or PES and make do with the management aspects of those games.

If you want a good soccer management game with amazing depth (not just for a sports/management sort of game, but for a game period) in terms of tactics, transfers, interaction, match engine play FM.

and for the record, FM now uses little player figurines instead of circles, but if you want, there is an option to make them circles instead. So yes its a 3d representation now.

What are the Championship Manager games like nowadays?

I remember playing CM93 and I was addicted for weeks on end - i dont think i slept at all during one summer school holidays.

The only thing I hated was waiting for the inevitable "BUT IT'S BEEN DISALLOWED.... CLOUGH WAS OFFSIDE..." every second time I scored.

Sports Interactive split with the publishers of Championship Manager (Eidos? I think) and started making Football Manager so FM is basically the continuation of the old CM series, I don't know much about the new Championship managers but Football Manger is regarded to be much better by most.

yeah i agree... i am playing FM09 and think its great. not as many offside calls in these days AC for PM

Yeah I used to be gutted at that as well.. because you can't see what's going on it's unexpected really. But it was amazing when you would see something like "Cole shoots in the box.......... GOAL FOR MAN UTD!" and the flashing colours would give you a fit.

I have briefly.

Have you played Football Manager?

Because either way you've got no ****ing clue whatsoever. Stick to your graphics with FIFA and I'll stick to my gameplay with FM.
Sorry for having an opinion on an internet forum.

I'd prefer to watch it in 3D and for it to still go in depth with your managing skills. For me it's more fun but I guess my opinion doesn't matter because it's the opposite to yours.

Football Manager 09

Any game that goes into as much depth as playing friendlies against Modbury at Golden Grove Reserve in Adelaide gets my vote any day. :thumbsu:

You can have your opinion, but it is that of an idiot.

Go in depth? Oh please.

Can you play in the Blue Square Conference in FIFA Manager? Does it still give ridiculous transfer fees like the FIFA games do?
