Thought I'd start a thread to try and keep track of this. It's my favourite part of the Games but for some reason it mostly gets the shaft on Australian TV coverage.

Kicks off today with the Men's Downhill. All times AEDST.

Watched some of the training runs last night for the downhill. Its going to catch a fair few out and the World Cup rankings aren't going to be the guide for this event. Feel Kitzbuhel is the closest course on the circuit the Men have run and thus the Austrians could pull out a surprise. But I'm picking Bode Miller for the Gold, has the speed and seemed to have the control of the course down pat.

Really disappointed that Didier Cuche isn't here. He would have loved this course. I'm cheering for Matthais Mayer, although Miller and Svindal seem the racers to beat.

My favourite event is the Super G, though. I haven't seen the planned course, but if the downhill is any indication it should be an absolute cracker.

Truly awesome race by Innerhofer. Absolutely ripped apart the top of the course. Was disappointed to see him just miss out on gold, but seeing his excitement with his placing was great.

My favourite event is the Super G, though.
Mine too. Very much an ignored discipline in that most people (in thus country at least) don't really understand what it is. Kind of being stick between the high profile disciplines but IMO much more enjoyable and interesting than GS.
The need to find speed and follow the fall line a real skill that sl and gs don't really allow.

This womens downhill course looks FUN. Awesome.

That steep camber where they're running uphill and throwing the feet out for a hard left straight down the face is awesome.

I think at the last games they had a draw for the silver in the luge or one of the bobsled events as well. So random.
