Essendon defender Dean Solomon underwent arthroscopic surgery today to repair a small tear in the cartilage of his right knee - an injury he sustained during the club's Wizard Cup match against Carlton. Despite the surgery, medical staff remain hopeful he will be available to play against Melbourne in the season opener at the MCG on Saturday, March 26.
