Instead of kicking the ball in the air high above matera's head expecting him to take a grab on an opponent who is atleast a foot taller than him, why don't they just dribble the ball to him, he would just spin around and kick a goal.

Apart from Judd i dont think the eagles midfield is deliverying the ball inot the foward line properly.

What do use think?

he should not be a marking target full stop, merely his job is all about creating opportunities when the ball is on the ground, crumbing the talls and swooping the ball. if he was 10 meters in front and is the only option, yes kick it to him but when hes on 2 defenders and is sandwiched, only a moron would back him a chance

I joked about this with a mate....kick the ball along the ground to Matera on the lead :D But more often than not there are people in front of him so you have to kick the ball in high to clear the guys in front.

But I dont think anything is Matera's fault. He leads very well and again is a goal kicking machine for us this year, it's just the midfielders sometimes become a little Matera concious and kick it to him almost every time which isnt the smartest play. Gaspar though is getting better with each week so perhaps he can finally be our big target up forward.
