Some Scary/Freaky stuff went down today....

Coming home from school, the bus had to take a detour (normally it goes down my road). This was because there was a police car blocking all traffic.. OK i thought fair enough theres an accident. Got near to my house, and i see about 20 metres away, 2 ambulances, at least 2 firetrucks and about half a dozen police cars.

Me being the suspicious one tried to look in, and noticed that they were wearing fully decked out chemical suits.

The first thing that came to my mind was the Anthorax cases. I was scared, never thought it could happen so close. It turned out to be a hoax, and the emergency servies used it as a training drill in the same time, but to be recieving hoaxes so close to home is just scary.

I know this has happened all around Australia.

Just how safe are we?

I understand that anybody delivering hoaxes will still be getting a severe sentence, which I think is a good thing. If we have too many hoaxes, it may lull us into a false sense of security.

As for how safe we are, I don't know. I guess its not something I like to think about, just like the likelihood of accidental death happening any other way.

One things for sure, though. The world as a whole is a lot less safe place than it was in the not-so-distant past.

Their was some hoax incident in Coburg as well. I am not sure which part of Coburg it was at.

As far as I know Howard has said 10 year jail terms for anyone caught involved in an anthrax hoax.
