I refuse to base a vote on something someone else said about a band or song.
If it's valid it deserves as much listening and voting possibility as any other song.

Most of the time i do my working out on paper. 1st song estimated on the page then up from there.

Previous posts were banter. I actually had a vampire weekend rejected some time ago.

I've not entered but that sort of comment means anyone who may have nommed them is disadvantaged because others might think they've nommed it purely because of Ocha saying it's a chance to do well.
Why would someone be less inclined to vote for something because I think it would do well?

I dont think they will. We all voted for the Beatles knowing it eould win. Most ppl are honest here and Have at some stage gifted away away a win. I could have eon a handful more of times for not voting for my best songs.

Perhaps I'm reminded of the El Scorcho incident
Elaborate! I'm not familiar.

I think people "MIGHT" be more inclined to abstain voting for whores, or cherry picked songs but not for simply thinking a song is good and is going to win. If someone nominates a great song then it should be worthy of winning. Also I've been open as others have about being more inclined to vote for songs we haven't heard before over known bangers because I feel they hit better having never heard them. Then there's genre, and artist preferencing. There are genres and artists that will almost certainly guarantee high votes from me even if Time from Pink Floyd were to be nominated.

Just read up on The Beatles - Yesterday in the last few pages of this thread.

Yesterday is one Beatles song I wouldn't hesitate slapping a big fat B on.

I Wanna Hold Your Hand is the other.
