Its a good game but its no mario kart.....yet

Looking forward to seeing what they do, would prefer just characters from the Sonic universe, only ever played as those in the 1st one, there's little interest for characters like the jet set radio guy, ryo and alex kidd.

It's much better than Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart Wii was garbage. Mario Kart 7 is a good Mario Kart game.

Yeah I agree, not sure what it is but every other kart game just seems to lack that intrinsic quality that Mario Kart seems to have. I would love to see a Mario kart killer on a non-Nintendo system, but sadly for me I am yet to see one.

First one was good, really enjoyed it.

Some things needed to be improved, but it was solid overall.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed announced!

Any developer working on a mascot kart racing game knows that there's one title their game will always be compared to. That isn't to say that Mario Kart is untouchable; merely that it represents the genre benchmark, the standard that all others have to aspire to. Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing made a decent fist of taking Nintendo head-on two years ago: though it fell just short, the game proved popular enough for its struggling publisher to bankroll a sequel. SEGA & All-Stars Racing Transformed is its name, it's coming later this year, and we spent a bit of time putting it through its paces at Sumo Digital's Sheffield home.

Picked it up today, but am putting it away for Xmas for my near 4 year old. He loves Mario Kart on his DS, so looking forward to playing this with him

Had a play for about half an hour now. Early feeling is of slight disappointment. For a sequel to a game I believe is the best karting game ever it feels a bit shallow. I don't like that they've gotten rid of the commentator (I don't count "Ice!" as commentating) as I felt that added a bit of atmosphere to the last one. I also found myself getting a bit lost in the water parts of the first stage but I'm sure that will go away after a few attempts. It just feels a bit like a $48 title at the moment.

Having a quick look at the multiplayer screen I'm glad they have some sort of ranking and win/loss statistics now. With the last game I thought multiplayer seemed a bit rushed and just on there cause they felt they had to.

Enjoying it so far.

Finding it more difficult than the first game. I believe it's mainly to do with the boats & planes factor but getting better as I keep playing. The roster is solid and the game looks beautiful with plenty happening on the screen at any given time.

Will update with more thought's as I keep playing.

Bought this game when it came out on Steam and have already sunk 40 odd hours into it. Best Kart Racing Game by a mile.

Not without it's flaws though. You get the usual cheap/annoying items and rubber band AI, but aside from that, absolutely sensational game. Haven't had this much fun playing a game in a long time, just posting about it makes me want to play it right now (don't mind if I do).
