Sony charging users for PSN

I got an email on my PS3 from someone telling me there's an 'Important Protest' in regards to Sony charging users to use the Playstation 3's online on 12/1/09. I haven't looked into it yet but I was wondering if anyone knew about it because if it's true then I'll be very unhappy.

Though the person did say if 500k people demanded against it, Sony would cancel.
