So Stanton is now missing two weeks with "soreness".

Crameri missed 3 weeks with it.

Myers received a minor knock to the achilleas/ankle/calf and has now missed 3 weeks.

Hibberd - minor... 3 weeks.

Ryder - has a minor calf injury but has missed 6 weeks.

Soreness, minor, just a flesh would? Who are they kidding?

My recollection is that Crameri had bleeding in the calf prior to his suspension and 2 game break, came back for Geelong and went off with an initially unexplained problem, later said (unofficially?) to be hamstring tightness.

The whole point, however, is that when they don't come clean on injuries and what they are, and how serious they are, then it leads to speculation as to what is really happening. A good example is why Fletcher missed last week. Soreness? Kidding. Now today they say he has recovered from a shoulder problem - first I have heard of a shoulder issue.

I am not sure if it is done to try to keep the opposition in the dark, but if so, it seems to be of doubtful benefit to me. What I do know is it really pisses off the supporters who are hanging on the team's fortunes.
Maybe it's just trying to put a positive spin on the injuries and avoid any more criticism, but I hate that kind of "positivity"

Its pretty simple. The media are a shallow, fickle lot. They're jumping all over us for every player mentioned "soft tissue injury". They've jumped all over those who have hamstrings, and forget the ones that claim to be corks, knocks etc.

We knew we were in for short term pain, the problem hasn't exacerbated it has simply remained consistent.

We are getting some handy players back into the team.

Soon the media attention will turn to our inclusions and in the meantime they miss or don't dwell on half of the negative stuff they could be dumping on us.

Fact is that the club has told 'porky pies' all year about injuries - And because the soft tissue injuries have become an epidemic - The club needs to tell more porky pies - To escape media scrutiny.
