A mate is having problem knowing which sound driver he needs. He tells me its onboard and he doesnt have any idea how to find out what driver he needs because he has just formatted. Any help would be good :)

Thanks

Do you know what brand the motherboard is? If so, find out the model number of the motherboard....it should be printed on the motherboard somewhere. Then goto the website of the manufacturer, and they should have the drivers on there - provided you know the model no.

You don't have any cd's with drivers i presume, in that case you will have to open the case up and look at the board, find the brand, and hopefully the type as well, otherwise its going to be real tough.

Shouldn't there be a motherboard manual with the MoBo model number on it?

However by the fact that you don't want to open the pc I imagine its a pc package with warranty which probably wouldn't have a motherboard manual.
