Southport have cruised to their 11th Premiership since joining the AFLQ in 1983 today in front of 3,500 at the GABBA.

By beating Morningside (who were going for three in a row) by 61 points, the Sharks reversed the result from 2004.

Ex Bulldogs player, Paul Dimmatina was voted best on ground in his last game after announcing he would retire and return to Victoria to continue his business interests. He kicked 6 goals.

The Southport Sharks have now played in the finals in EVERY year they have competed in the top league since 1983, a record which would be the envey of every football club in Australia.

Other Queensland results saw Burleigh repeat their 2004 victory over Palm Beach is a thriller in the Division 2 Grand Final with the last kick of the game.

The Division 1 Reserves Grand Final was won after the siren when Broadbeach scored a 6 point victory over Southport, the deadlock only broken afer a mark was taken with 11 seconds remaining.

Son of fomer Brownlow Medalist, Barry Round, David won his second Grogan Medal as the leagues Best and Fairest, this time playing for Broadbeach.
