Have previously owned a Specialized MB, live on the Boulevard in Kew & constantly look at the thousands of riders that use it.

Notice that "Avanti Plus" are retailing the bike for $1400 & that includes pedals & shoes.

Anyone here ever owned this one, looks to me an entry based road bike.

I ride a Specialized (Roubaix SL2 S-Works) and its an awesome bike highly recommend the brand (well designed and rigid yet compliant frames - especially 2009+ models) however the Allez Sport has sub standard components and I would not look at buying something that does not have at very leasy Shimano 105 componentry or even better Ultegra.

I could be a bike snob though :)

Depends if you are planning on doing decent km's. If you are 105 is the bare min (it will last a fair while), Ultegra is indestructable and Dura-ace is for us real bike snobs.

Tiagra is fine if you are just riding once a week and have a low budget.

*Disclaimer: I ride an Argon 18 Platinum with Dura Ace, which means Argon 18's are better than specialized...:p:D
