Also said he planned to leave because he can't step back from being a senior Coach. Going to take the next couple of weeks to ponder it and that he hopes people can understand that.

I honestly have no idea. If Hird coaches Essendon I think we have Bomber. But if Hird is stood down then it wouldn't surprise me if Bomber stayed.

To me he made it pretty clear just then that he is going to leave Essendon and wants to continue senior coaching elsewhere. He also said you'll find out in the next couple of days but quickly tried to correct himself by saying he goes away for two weeks tomorrow and you might find out in two weeks.

If Hird stays, Bomber leaves, is how I took that speech. He really threw the gauntlet down at the end. "Congratulations to whoever wins" referring to whoever gets him as head coach.

My money is on him staying actually. Hird will go and Little won't waste time in signing Thompson.

I think it'll be anounnced by Friday that either Hird will be sacked, or Bomber will be GC coach.
