Valenti last year?
Valenti was upgraded the week he played his first match.

My point being is Spencer is elevated, it's because he will play Round 1, not purely as a back-up if one of the other two get injured between now and then.

Just got back from the Family Day. Bails introduced Spence by saying he had been recently elevated to the senior list. Expect to see him round one.

Belly's thumb was in a cast. Don't expect to see him any time soon. Strauss on crutches as he rolled his ankle at training last Thursday. Ricky Petterd looked very ginger, as did Flash. But I would expect to see them round one.

Spoke to Jack Grimes. He is a monty for round one, just a bit sore after training.

Thanks for the update on Grimesy. I'm a bit concerned that he has now missed our last 2 matches. Worry that it is more than a bit of soreness from training. Does he have a history of injury or has he been durable in his junior playing days ?

Great news about Spencer by the way. I think he will develop into a fine ruckman for us.

 Sorry. Thought I remembered him being elevated and then sitting around for a few weeks. :thumbsu:

Interesting you brought up Valenti though.

There's no doubt he is good enough to be playing AFL, but it's tough to see where he will find a spot in the side this year, there a lot of players ahead of him.

Read previous post. Spencer elevated. Jamar on LTI list.

Surely he's a better prospect than Juice? Coach doesn't seem to rate him? but he looked OK last year?

Well Juice is a forward while Valenti is a midfielder so can't compare them, Valenti did spend short periods in the forward line last season in the games he played but as more of resting/pinch hitting type of thing.

To elaborate on that, Juice is a 190cm+ tal forward, Valenti is a sub-180cm midfielder, even though he might be a better player, there's no conceivable way he would be able to take Newton's spot...
