Hey Sainters,

Do you think St Kilda should bring back Spida Everitt to help out their ruck division?

I think Spida would be a very valuable asset to you guys chose to pick him. As one of the best tap ruckmen in the game, he could really help out Ackland, Rix, Kosi and Brooks with their ruckwork.

Thoughts??

There was a lot of debate about this in another thread, however that was before the sacking of GT.

Personally, I think it would be short sighted and I am not so sure his attitude is right. The last thing we want is a further disruption to the playing group as they seem self sacrificing at the moment.

Having said that, if he could be harnessed he might prove valuable for two years, if he does not break down like an old Land Rover.

What do people think about not having the new coach in for the draft periods? Surely any coach worth his salt will want to be up and running in time for that?

I don't really like the idea of getting Spida. Our list isn't old but fairly mature and we need to get some youth in. And plus, there is the chance he might come and not contribute that much. His year this year was ruined by injury but even when he did get on the ground he wasn't that good and showed signs that he was slowly deteriorating with age.

I'd hope they could get a coach by the Draft but there is also trade week in three and a half weeks. I'd be pretty nervous going into the draft without a coach, not so much the trade. But on the other hand, last year it seemed as if GT just left John Beveridge to his own devices and let him pick the players.

I think Spider's season was ruined by injury.
He should have sacrificed the early part of the season (should have had surgery in the preseason). We didn't see the real Peter Everitt this year.
He can play.

That said, there is something seriously wrong with his brain.
We do not want him at St Kilda if he persists in having his brain problems.
I think it very unlikely that he will change. So I say no - I don't want him, for that reason and that he really is unlikely to offer two more seasons of injury free good football.
