Springers guests: real or actors?

Are the people that go on Jerry Springer real or just actors?

This question simpy cannot be avoided any longer. I believe that the people that appear on Springer are actually genuine. I think they get an appearance fee, this acts as motivation for trailer park trash to make an ass of themself on TV. Wouldn't going on Springer ruin your acting career? Surely they could get better looking actors?

Anyways I will be intrested to see what everyone else thinks. I'll be back with my final thought a bit later.

I saw a interview with Jerry Springer and he said some are fake and some are real.......but i just voted fake lol

People apply to go on the show, and they're situations are real.

The fake bit is that when a surprise guest comes on, the other person already knows that they are going to be on the show.

But I still hate it.

I cannot stand watching those in-bred disgusting slobs talk about their problems.
The show is dirty and just a bloody freak show.

I saw last weeks one, about a woman(?) complaing how her husbad married their daughter and had two kids...yuck.

If all those people could act that well, they'd win Oscars. I think most, if not all of them are real.

Most Aussies tend to think, "How could they be so dumb to go on that show and make fools of themselves?", and I think the answer is that because they think they are in the right, it will be the other party who looks stupid, not themselves. How wrong they are.

I think some are real... a few months ago, there was one definite real case on it. You know that guy that has recently been arrested in America for having 4 wives (he married most of them when they were 13 and he was in his 30s), and he also has 40 kids. They all live together "happily". Anyway, he was on, and that's definitely a true case because it's been in the news lately.
The other day my all time favourite was on: "Mom Stole My Lesbian Lover"

I think most are real, but even Jerry's admitted that the odd episode is fake.

Yeah, some real, some fake.

They had this one random guy pretending to be French calling himself "Mr Ooh La La" and had these two girls "fighting" over him which was faker than Tori Spelling's rack.

Some are definately real.A guy was recently convicted of murdering a male guest who confessed he had the hots for him.

Its a shocking show,but its "Must watch TV"

They have a very elabarate screening process, bu tonce in a while, fakes slip through the cracks. It's all in Jerry's book.

I recall seeing or reading Jerry in an interview where he said that they were all actors, even used the word "trash" to describe the show.

I am surprised the vote of this poll is so close at the moment.

I know its not Jerry Springer but I went to a taping of Ricki Lake a few months back, and those people were real.

The subject was "Stop flaunting your breasts your only 12" You could see the mothers and daughters still arguing when the breaks were on.

Actually I'm glad to hear that. I saw a great Ricki a couple of years ago about anorexia. It was truly heartbreaking. So yeah, I guessed that the guests were real but thanks for confirming that.

Jerry???? FAKE. Obviously fake. But that's what makes it so much fun.

I always thought they were real till I read the interview where he confessed they were fakes, but hey, it's trash TV and people are eager to watch to have a little fun at somebodie's expense.

They are paid to ham it up and have the confrontations and to get physical that makes them actors. Ok not all would do it as a primary job but nothing on springer is reactionary it is panned.
