I've been a Spurs fan since the very early 90's when I was about ten...

Just recently I can't believe our horror run of injuries and bad luck in the playoffs.

We won in 99
2000 - Tim Duncan does his knee 4 games before the playoffs
2001 - we lose shooting guard Derek Anderson in the first round
2002 - David Robinson out with a back, Tim duncan's father passes away, further injuries to Danny Ferry, Charles Smith

unbelievable
I'm beginning to think the poor Spurs are cursed. I know full strength they can beat the Lakers, but going into game 5 against Seattle, without Robinson, Ferry, Smith and potentially not Duncan either we may not even get there!

It is unfortuante that if my Sonics make it to the next round of the playoffs, it will be casued by someone's death. Bit of a hollow victory if it occurs.

first of all... a full strength spurs team would still get creamed by the lakers !

secondly... even without david robinson... the spurs should be able to handle a this sonics team... the huuuge g.payton is having an awesome season... !

Add to that the Spurs didnt even deserve there 99 title. Tanked a few years before that to get Duncan. Robinson was out all year and instead of going into damage control, making some trades or picking up some free agents to help out, the Spurs tanked the season knowing full well they could get Duncan in the draft.

The Spurs at full strength will still get beaten by the Lakers if they get past the Sonics.

Thoughts are with Timmy D and his family.

Don't worry about your happless Spurs because whoever the Lakers play in the second round, they will be nothing more than fodder for a pumped up team which is finally beginning to show the potential they had at the start of the season. I'm extremely confident the Lakers will three peat.

Can you believe a Franchise this successful has not three-peated since their days in Minneapolis in the early 50's.

yes... feel no pity for the spurs at all !
curse.. what curse... they've been blessed with probably the biggest/luckiest lottery win in nba history...

a successful, perennial playoff team... goes for just one poor season after robinson's injury... and they land one of the best players the draft has seen...

ah... the poor celtics...

I think the Spurs full strength could be the Lakers in a series. And I know Danny Ferry on his own is a big loss, but the Spurs were so beat up in game 4 against the Sonics that they only had 2 healthy players on the bench by the end of the game, so every injury hurts.

"And I know Danny Ferry on his own is a big loss"

should read

"And I know Danny Ferry on his own ISN'T a big loss"
