Not sure what Dubai has to do with things. I might do that google search one day. And like I said, go on an international politics thread to discuss it.

Maybe you could google anfield shameful truth one day too. That actually is about a football club and its actions.

Thank you for once again confirming you don't have a problem with the way your owners generate income to fund your club.

Luckily some people in Manchester have morals:

And there are even City supporters who acknowledge the moral dilemma:

Bojan KantKick what do you think?

I must be one of the ones without morals because I couldn't give a damn where City get their money from, likewise United. If our owners want to run a drug cartel I couldn't give a stuff. The owners job is to supply money so the team can buy and pay players and in the end win trophies. How and where they get this money from doesn't phase me one bit

Musnt have had time to google anfield I guess.

Like I said, and keep saying. I'll praise or criticise the actions of my club on a football forum. If I want to learn about Abu Dhabi I'll do so and discuss it on an international politics forum.

It really has nothing to do with football and it's noticeable that a few seem only willing to discuss it in a football context. It's pretty transparent and also pretty obvious that the same people arent as willing to discuss the actions of their clubs let alone people connected to it.

Noticeable also that there was no accusation in those links of Sheikh Mansour profiting from slave labour as one or two seem desperate to repeat every couple of days.

Just that there is some unethical business behaviour in the country he is from. Just as there is in Australia and the UK.

Comparing unethical business behaviour to slave labour. A new low for bigfooty has been reached it seems.
The new low is you pretending this that don't exist do justo win a football debate on the internet.

The fact that you thought Mansour was from Dubai tells me everything I need to know.

As does the fact that you steadfastly refuse to comment about Anfield.

Only forest green rovers supporters should be playing the ethics card.

What about the poor locals of Lothair Road forced out of their homes for low ball amounts?

PMSL. I never claimed once that Mansour was from Dubai.

As for your ridiculous comments about Liverpool the Anfield area is being completely regenerated by both LFC & the council.

You're losing your shit in the heat it seems. Have a lie down old man.

Most were hanging on to derelict properties who received above market value compensation.

Don't know what's going on in Dubai. Lol. Try googling Sheikh Mansour human rights for starters.
Must have been a mistake.

And still no comment on residents being forced out of their homes around Anfield. I'm guessing the regeneration probably doesnt mean so much to them.

Skirting the issue indeed.

spending a sunday afternoon trying to lecture people on an australian sporting forum about something in another country that they learnt about from google.

the darkest day in bigfooty history!!!

Most of the properties bought up were owned by landlords hanging on for a bigger payout. Anyone staying in the area has been resettled their. My sister in law's parents have a house in the area and it has prospered since the announcement of project anfield. Once again you are talking shit / looking for cheap bait - which I have bitten at to your credit.

They weren't derelict. The club had bought properties throughout the 90s and left them abandoned to give the area a worse look than there used to be. People offered £55,000 which was down on what the values were in the 90s.

Open the other eye and do some reading about the compulsory land buying and the club buying land prior to that and you'll see that the little man got walked over by big business. Nothing new in that. Just saying don't play the moral card against another club when all clubs have done something questionable at some point. Regardless of scale it's just a bit rich.

I have family that live in the Anfield area so know all about it. You can't keep everyone happy but project anfield has definitely regenerated the area and given it a new lease of life. If you look into it further you'll find those who wanted to remain in the area did and those that didn't were looking to make a quick buck by holding the council to ransom.

In general the project is a huge success that has breathed new life into the area.

Well if you want to call it a bowl then that's fine. I guess a bowl is when you have all the corners filled in, which actually keeps the atmosphere in the ground. The fact is the four sides are all different, so it in no way resembles one of those bowl stadiums you probably have in mind
Of course it's a bowl. The Super Bowl etc... NFL. USA! USA!

That's kinda stupid. Actually not kinda, it's totally stupid.

The guardian who is the one uk paper I respect disagrees. To the neutral non supporter it wasn't great for the home owners. You won't see that because you support the club. This is a long standing thing not just this project. Buying houses in the 90s to future proof and leaving them empty wasn't good for the area on the short term. But was good for the club long term

Well no it's not.
I follow dozens of sports teams here and around the world. Am I supposed to do a background check on every official or sponsor involved with the clubs?
Of course not, what goes on in the background is none of my business. As long as they are making my club successful that's all that concerns me.

That's actually ridiculous mate. But whatever.

It's hardly sharing when we own it and they pay us ;)
You know I'm just trolling WR for fun. Im sure the new stadium will be great. You guys are happy so that's all that counts. I'm of course very happy we redeveloped Anfield because that's home and always has been.
