Stadium seating capacity and Tickets to the football

For QLD matches, you CAN have 50% capacity, however they are at times choosing not to allow the full stadium opened (I’m assuming to save costs, and how many they believe would show up anyways).

So far all Suns and Lions home matches have been at 50% allowed in. The Melb v Lions away match though only had tickets available for 25% of the stadium.

WB vs Rich tickets are on sale now on Ticketek. Matches will most likely go on sale 3-5 days before the day of the game.

Doesnt seem to be good up to date information on how many people each stadium is letting in per game or how you get ticekts to these games.

Anyone have some info on current up to date seating arrangments in each stadium and how you access tickets?
Just to give more info here:
For Metricon: Go to Ticketek 3-5 days before the game. 12,500 allowed in, sometimes less when they expect a small crowd (usually a VIC v Non-Vic match)

For the GABBA: Ticketmaster 3-5 days before game day. 20,000ish max allowed in.

Crows have got about 13k and 15k to the last couple, and Port were about the 17k mark on Saturday night. Not sure why the max 20k isn’t getting sold, but maybe the numbers exclude corporates?

Crows and Port members can register for tickets (up to 8 in one transaction) a few days before the game, not sure how they’re allocated to interstate sides though.

So why is the dees game only allowing 500?

I posted about it in another thread, but for the Queensland games there's a lot more demand for tickets than the amount they're selling

A lot of the games aren't going on sale to the general public, just a small allocation of tickets are going to club members with many members still missing out.

For the games that are going on sale to the general public they aren't using the full stadium allocation and most of the games seem to be selling out within the first day tickets are on sale. There's a lot of support in SEQ for interstate clubs especially the big Victorian clubs who would easily sell out Metricon at 50% capacity

For Optus stadium it’s pretty similar with max 50% capacity which seems to be about 27-28,000. Tickets go on sale about 4 days out to members of each team first and then general public 3 days out. Non WA team games tix prices seem to be a flat a $30 adults and $15 for kids doesn’t matter where you sit. Eagles game tickets seem to be $40-$80 for Adults. Not sure about Dockers but will find out this weekend.

I was surprised the Dockers got 20k last night as the weather was terrible - people must be desperate for footy.

For The hawks v blues game they seem to be only selling the bottom deck and only 2/3 of that. The game is at 3.40pm on a Friday which is a pretty ridiculous time slot, if they reversed the other game (Bombers v lions) and started that game at 6.30pm EST it would finish about 9pm which is 7pm WST and then start the hawks v blues, then I reckon they would get an extra 5k to this game.

500 people for the GABBA for Melb V Port?

That is such an insult to the locals. May as well play it behind closed doors so everyone misses out rather than pretty much everyone.

Thats it. There are zero cases in queensland. Werent stadiums supposed to be letting 25 percent of their capacity in. Why is afl even in queensland if thats tge crowd? Surely it should be in perth then.
250 per club or 30000 in wa.

those numbers are just too close to call.

St Kilda were allocated 250 tickets to both the Adelaide Oval games for their Adelaide based members to buy/utilise as part of their package.

AO was 25k capacity but SA Health cut that back to 20k after people weren’t doing the right thing. 250 tickets allocated to the away teams

This is a disgrace. And queensland thinks they should get the gf.

I thought I heard mentioned that some of the qld games aren't ticketed because they need to do a deep clean after, and some games are back to back. Not sure if this could be a reason.

Yeah it’s the AFL deciding this. I’m shocked they are limiting the crowds like this.

Tickets have gone on sale for the next 8 Metricon Stadium matches, here are what the crowd size allowed decided by the AFL is for each.
Rich v WB - 12,500 (single tickets left only)
Essendon V Brisbane - 12,500
North V Adel - 500 (May open up more)
Gold Coast V GWS - 12,500
Rich v Brisbane - 12,500
Gold Coast V St Kilda - 12,500
Essendon V GWS - 12,500
Gold Coast V Essendon - 12,500

So all except one are at 50%, and North v Adel would be the lowest drawing by far so there’s some sense there. But still dumb.

And if anyone wants to buy a ticket https://premier.ticketek.com.au/search/SearchResults.aspx?k=Afl
