So then. Just curious. what do you guys think of Staff?

Here is the average Swans fan's take - Tremendously talented footballer but lazy in the classic style of Dale Lewis. has great skills but makes it look so effortless that it sometimes seems as though he's not trying hard enough - this frustrates the supporters.

FWIW I hope Greg does well - if being traded was not a big enough kick up the bum, he will never amount to anything more than a wasted talent.

It's interesting that the media is taking pot-shots at Stafford (and the club for trading for him) before he has a chance to prove himself.

The fact that Richmond were competitive in two of the three weeks he played, and hasn't been competitive since says something I reckon.

Stafford has been described as 'lazy' but, during the whole period he has been 'lazy', he was suffering from an undiagnosed hip injury (according to the Richmond FC). This injury may have been at least part of the reason Stafford appeared lazy.

I'm yet to be convinced the Stafford trade was a bad one. It's still far too early to say.

Sounds a helluva lot like Bowden.............:)

During his time in Sydney, I always thought of Stafford as a bit soft rather than lazy. He seemed to be easily bumped off the ball or spoiled.

If he did have an undiagnosed injury all that time, it might explain it. If he fully recovers, Richmond may end up with a gun ruckman.

Getting rid of Daffy and his inflated salary was the main reason for the trade anyway, wasnt it?

yes it was and to replace Gale in the ruck since Gale retired and as for my opion on Stafford it's hard to say i really don't know much about him but once he is over his injury i hope he starts playing really well.

He is definetly needed in our team gives us taem balance and options (A desperately needed Tall).
Was one of the elite ruckmen a few years back.
Injuries are usually misinterpreted as being lazy and soft.
Hopefully he is in next game and can get back to his old uninjured form.

Great Game. Attacked the ball and really set the match up for us in the middle. If we can keep him on the park then our mid-field will be so much better.
I like they way he treats the opposition as if he hates them personally. His arrogance and competitiveness has been missed.

Hopefully he keeps it up.
