Computers & Internet Stan or Netflix?

I'm looking at subscribing to one of these, and was just wondered what people's experience of either of them has been like.

Quickflix is usually dismissed as a cheap Aussie knock off, but it's putting it's money in the Chinese market and trying to break that, so could become a serious player.

Netflix is pretty good, but find the range of content overrated. Why have Stargate Atlantis but no SG-1?

I've had Netflix for a few months and am now starting to find I've watched most of the stuff I'm interested in. But thats not too bad as I can cancel my subscription at any time.

I would still recommend it, even if you only use it for 6 months or so.

Those Stan ads with that unfunny whale Rebel Wilson was enough to put me off it.

I'd probably go with Netflix if I had to choose, seems to be more popular at the moment.

The only reason you'd use Stan is if your internet sucks and you cant VPN or DNS to US Netflix.

Stan has poor infrastructure and a lot of people have had issues with their mobile app.

Other then that, Stan has the better library imo, compared to the Australian Netflix library.

Quickflix model is a bit different to the others, too.

Had Stan while Better Call Saul & Community was on, since they were fast tracked. That was a big pro. It has an ok range, as well as a lot of Aussie stuff. It seemed like they rushed everything to market just to beat Netflix though and their apps and functionality suffered. Will proably sign back up when Better Call Saul comes back. But Stan also pays Rebel Wilson money to do ads, so that's a big con.

Netflix probably has the better range of the two, although it is still pretty poor at the moment. Apart from their Netflix originals they don't have first run stuff like Stan with BCS and Community. If you're going to VPN to get the American range you'll have a lot better time. Their infrastructure and general experience is better though.

Anyway, both have free trial months, and no lock in contracts. So why not just jump on each for a month and see what you end up using? We just subbed to both until we found we were barely going to Stan anymore.

I'm in a different country so hard to compare. I love Netflix though and find it great value. New content is added fairly regularly and their original series are good too. Also some decent music and documentary stuff you might like.

Get Netflix and watch everything good before the tax comes in.

I have netflix cos I can run it straight to my TV. There's a few TV shows on there that I want to watch and haven't seen before so there's plenty for me on there. And it streams quickly & they update it fairly often.

Get Netflix. Stan has some good stuff, but way to many shows with missing episodes or seasons which is the most frustrating thing ever. The recently got Hamish & Andy on there though

An Uncle has netflix and I gotta say - the range was really shit, most popular titles from the last decade and a lot of stuff you see on DVD in JB's bargain bins.

Sign up for Netflix free month then get on getflix smart DNS 2 week trial and see if you like it. Then you can search for whatever you want on flixlist to see what country it's in and adjust your region based on that. Piece of piss
