Stanton's first 50 games

Today was his 50th. What a great first 50 games probably the best i've seen for a while. Today his run and carrying the ball was exceptional and foot skills were pretty good. How much improvement has he got left in him? This kid could win a brownlow imo.

Apart from the ODD game here and there Stanton has been a very good performer from the minute he stepped into the club.
According to rumours Sydney would have picked him had they had of picked before us.

He has a massive engine and is a great asset to us.
As mcphee has hinted at he may also be "very special"

He's really good at finding the ball, but his disposal still isn't very good and lacks penetration and accuracy in his kicks.

Should be a good handy player, but won't be a superstar and can't really change a game on his own. Might be a better player in a better midefield.

Dont agree with that Stanton has a very penetrating kicck these days and his kicking has improved a ton.

nothing wrong with his ball finding at all. Gets himself into position or provides a running player for quick passes from slower folks like Bradley and Welsh. Certainly a B&F probability,.....Brownlow one day? Why not!

Dont agree with that Stanton has a very penetrating kicck these days and his kicking has improved a ton.

He can definately kick a good distance he just can't stap passes to teammates 15-20 metres away, he will learn that in time

his foot skills have come a looong way. that 50m set shot in the second quarter proved as much.

Very solid...defintely has the courage and drive to become an important figure in our midfield. Not sure if he'll become a star as such, but when you consider Misiti wasnt a star as far as accolades go competition wide.....he WAS the general in the middle for us. Looking at Stanton to become just that very soon.

He has been a fantastic player from the moment he stepped into Windy Hill.
He will be a great player for years to come.
He is sooo fit and just doesn't stop running.
I doubt there would be many taggers in the game that could limit his input for a whole game as he will run them into the ground.

Hate to admit it, but Dale Morris would beat him in my opinion. Bombers should make a play for him when his contract expires...the boy is gifted, not to mention lightening quick and plays tight all day.

Stants is the guy all new young kids should look to when they join Essendon. Is now a permanent fixture in our midfield, and is the one who gets tagged more often than not. Amazing work rate and never gives up.

He reminds me more of Robert Harvey (without the hips). Just runs and runs and runs and runs and runs and runs and runs and runs and runs.

Funny seeing 2nd Pick Walker on the bench as Stants gave him a bath. Fantastic to see.

Very good start by Stants, looks to be a 250 game player hopefully. Smoking Joe Misiti would be proud of the boy who took over his number...

Impressed with him this year and has given all Essendon supporters something to look forward to in the future..if we get a few more guys to step up like him then I feel our luck will change.
