Heard last night on the Grape Vine that one Ash Roberts, ex Captain of Frankston Dolphin was heading down to Chelsea Heights!!

What a Pick Up!!!!

Cant believe he aint going to one of the snobby MPNFL sides but if this is true, would absolutely star in SFL Div 1 next year!! I live a couple of blocks away from chelsea Heights and I like to see them do well so I Think this would be a massive grab for the heighters!!

How much do you reckon he would be getting, all I know is whatever it is, it will be money well spent!!!

If true though, granted we are in October...........

So I just realised maybe this rumour is more than just a rumour!!

From the Local Frankston Rag:

FRANKSTON captain Ash Roberts has called a close to his marvellous VFL career.

Roberts, 27, says it's time for him to focus on other things.
``At this level, footy has to be your priority,'' he said last Friday.
``It has to be number one and number two on your list, but with me it's become three and four and five, so it's not as important as it needs to be.''
Roberts is likely to join Southern league club Chelsea Heights as assistant coach next season.

Heard this on the weekend down at the local- story is he will bring a few good players from around the area to the club. Still don't understand why he would go to Chelseas Heights, obviously they do like to throw the cash around a fair bit but I presume he knows some people at the club maybe?

Holy sh!t- surely that can't be correct? How could a small club like that afford to pay that much for just two players- plus Walshy would be on a fair bit if he is still there.

They've got plenty, I heard there getting new rooms built as well, they will be top 3 next year no doubt with those 2 players, plus they will pick up more over the summer

I know they have plenty, just curious how they can sustain paying huge money like that in this league. Must have some very good sponsorship deals.
New rooms were due by the start of next season according to Neil, not sure where they are at. They definitely should be one of the top teams next season, I actually thought that they underachieved this year. Only time will tell, looks as though a lot of sides will be looking to build good teams which should improve the standard of the league to no end.
Mordialloc should improve dramatically this season- picked up a few players already and with some extra cash available this season should be a very competitive unit. Looking at KPP at present which they lacked last season.

worse rooms in the SFL and the SFL has to do something about it.

No room for strapping, rub downs and every time we play there the toilets have a real CH's smell about it.

I can confidently say that those figures are way off the mark. I know a few guys down there. Ash Roberts brother and a few mates are already there. That is the main attraction. As for their new rooms, they are funded largely by government grants but player/supporter donations taken this year have contributed $30k+.

whats the news on springys recruits chaddles?? any more noble park players or are things on the quiet

No news from Springy yet, which is to be expected since they only just finished the finals series. You would expect a few handy additions for Springy to come to the surface in a few weeks.

Very intersting news from Chelsea they've been very quite about it and good on them. The best news was the new clubrooms as there current rooms are just a large house.

chaddles

who has mordialloc picked up???????

Spoke to troy ogier saturday night he said he was going to give mordialloc another go.....
not sure about kirkland

Spot on MM, Ogier is keen to give the Bloods another shot. Like a few of the boys, he see's the potential that the club has to offer. Assuming that the club does everything it can to put a finals competitive unit together there will not be many good players exiting Mordi except T Mac.
Kirkland will be up in the air until early next season- it will depend on recruiting and what colour socks his misses lets him wear. Will kick a shit load wherever he goes next season.

Recruits- won't talk about names due to my balls been kicked in by a couple of Mordi jizz wads. Not sure on the club front but a few senior players look to be bringing in some talent. Will get a better picture come Feb next year when most people switch on to footy mode.

Heard that you and Kirkland have been training for a month now and both unlikely to be at Mordi next season? Off to Yarra Valley from the rumours!
Must be training on there own you egg as most clubs don't start till early to mid Nov.What benefit is there to training now unless you are planning a move to a higher comp(VFL).
Kirkland will be at Mordi why would he want to leave i think every team that played them can see they aren't far off.A few more quality talls and they will play finals as they have close to the best onball brigade in Div.1.

Pfft, we've started training, albeit just running, and we're in the lower half of Div 3. :p By the way, it IS early November.
