Despite my earlier post I agree that he hads a different mix to your midfield which could be exactly what you need.

I'm happy that we've got Stenglien, but i'm still unsure about where he will slot in. Oue midfield is packed, and blokes like Waters, Hunter, Chick and Banfield have done well at half-back.

One aspect of his play not mentioned was his ability to be third man up in a throw-in (usually) or ruck contest to win a tap from a negated Clarke or Biglands.

Put simply, he's a leadership type who isnt a flash kick, who can tag the size of a Koutafides and win the hard ball.

We're going to miss him more than people realise.
Some of my learned colleagues believe Thompson will be an adequate replacement but when you lose Johnson & Bickley and Stenglein in a blink;patricularly the last two;your'e gonna suffer if your'e not filling the breech
