I know it's still very early in the season, but I wanted to visit the GWS section to acknowledge Coniglio. He has become a very, very good player to start the season, showing the competition why he was selected at Pick 2.
His disposals have increased on average by 6.3 per game from last year and his tackles by 2.7 per game. It's the aggression and the intent he appears to have whenever he has been close to the ball that has really impressed me. He seems to fly under the radar, with Ward and Treloar performing the way they are, but I'm a huge fan of Coniglio and his impact on the team cannot be underestimated.
In the 2 wins you guys have had, he has averaged 27 touches, 8.5 tackles and a goal. While it's only a small sample, when he lifts and plays really well, you guys win. His stats are still good in losses, but obviously his pressure and work in the middle is a big reason as to why you were able to beat Sydney and Melbourne.
He also averages 6.2 clearances a game (same as Treloar) which, combined with his tackling, makes him a real threat. It's amazing that he can still have an impact as an outside player as well.
Hopefully Coniglio can continue his blistering start to the year and lead you guys to more wins now and in the future. You certainly have a star here.
