I don't know much about this guy other than he is a 203 cm ruckman. I am interested in Sydney supporters' opinion as to how you rate Doyle and if it came down to a trade what would you expect in return in terms of draft pick/s.

Thanks;)

Well, Doyley really came on last year after sporadic appearances the last 2 years.. kicked some goals against richmond and really got his confidence up. The perception is that he is a great talent, but needs to start backing it up with regular performances. Has a tendency to get injured too, which is inconvenient :(

Swans probably wouldn't trade him at any price at the moment - we NEED ruckmen.

... but hypothetically if he wanted to leave what do you think would be a fair compensation in terms of draft picks and/or players?

Cheers

Would depend on what he does this season. Thus far he hasn't achieved much so it would be hard to place that high a value on him but he was very highly rated as a junior, and his failure to deliver consistently at AFL level is due to injury rather than because he hasn't lived up to his raps. The Sydney hierarchy rates him very very highly indeed - or at least so we're told.

Given that Port got two first round picks for Brooks - even less developed than Doyle - I guess that might be a starting point. But then I reckon the Saints were desparate to pay that amount. It would all depend on who held the upper hand in the negotiations but at least a first round pick. Would possibly look for a player to be thrown in as well. That looks a lot compared to what we gave up for Davis, or Collingwood paid for Woewodin, but a lot of it comes down to the perceived value of ruckmen.
