Sorry Seattle, there is no saving your Sonics. That's the feeling of NBA commissioner David Stern, who said Saturday he expects the SuperSonics to leave the city, either this year or when their lease expires in 2010.

"It's apparent to all who are watching that the Sonics are heading out of Seattle," Stern said during his annual All-Star weekend press conference. "I accept that inevitability at this point. There is no miracle here."
Interesting that he has given up on the Sonics staying in Seattle and saying the city should let them leave now rather then later, maybe the city is just trying to stall time in the hope that the Hornets move to Oklahoma City first? Anyway looks like Clay Bennett will become the home town hero he wanted to be.

Farrrk. I'm heading off to Seattle soon for 2 years and was hoping to see the Sonics in action.
