Direct your attention to Matt Spencer. Why the hell is he on our list?

I'd take Sam Hunt every day of the week over Matt "DEEEER, Where did the ball go" Spencer.

What purpose does he serve?
 
Agree with the Hoff. Spencer is bloody awful, rather ditch him than Owen.

Comedy value. Only player I've ever seen run with his shoulders.

His purpose is to free up a draft pick for this Year. Thast about it

Owen had no pre season as already mentioned and was considered a project player if I recall when drafted. That usually means 3-4 years? Like Mackie taking till this season to get it together.

I feel sorry for Spencer, I reckon the game has just got way too fast for him in a short period of time. If he was quicker he would be much better....agree about Sam Hunt, should get him on the list.

I'm pretty sure he os a "project player". Saw him play as a junior and he did not come across as a future AFL player. Obviously they see a lot of development in him.
 
Matt Spencer played an AFL game this year and did a reasonable job. Owen playing AFL is laughable. Even after another two preseasons I question Owens ability to play an AFL level game.

Spencer played two games and got ****ing creamed by his opponents. He makes Nathan's turning circle look small and always seems to be four metres behind his opponent.

He was definately classified as a surprise pick.

Played one good game early in the TAC competition last year where he kicked 6 goals, but struggled to get over 10 touches for the remaining games. Was picked as an emergency for Vic Country at the Championships.

Was surprisingly nominated for the draft camp last year where he made the most of his luck with some outstanding results. Unfortunately, Geelong were sucked in by these results.

Very lucky to get picked up in my opinion. I think most Geelong supporters would have liked to see Todd Grima picked up at pick 35 and Owen rookie listed. Very strange selection by Geelong considering we have very similar types in Steve Johnson and Charlie Gardiner.

You might wanna take those nasty comments about Matthew Spencer back.

God for bid that someone should form an opinion about a player that a has failed to deliver for 4 seasons (and his paid handsomely for his troubles), whilst paying over $600 a year for a membership. Shame on me, Shame on you!

Leave Matty alone. He is the next big thing, just you wait and see. He'll proove you all wrong and for the record, it's not his fault the balls hits him in the face atleast twice a game. He has a catching disorder.

P.S. Matty is the best dam lawn mower man the town of Geelong has ever seen!
