I'm a massive fan of this guy, maybe my favourite player besides lap lap lappin, but I just wanna know if everyone else thinks that he is probably our most un-accountable player on the ground... His opponents constantly get pretty much the same amount of ball as him or more, he is a star but the defensive side of his game needs alot of work. In saying that, sadly, he is by far our best midfielder

Not by that far, Kouta is up there but the gap from second to third is wide and the cap from third to fourth is wider still.

The last 2 weeks Stevo has had a shocker. Turned it over a lot, been unaccountable as you guys have pointed out, even though he has got 30 touches a game.

I think he is a better ball user, I'd prefer him running into goal taen kouta (he is the third worse kick at the club behind Waite and Prenda).

He will come good. Maybe he has been told not to worry about his opponent? See what happens Friday.

Time to change our structure I think. As good as Waite is in a Hamill role up forward, we need his physical presence in the middle. Probably Bannister aswell. Campo should be forward, Lappin should be back, as simple as that. Still plenty of work to be done at the Blues. BTW, Thornton should be given the captaincy. Shows some heart and loyalty that boy.

agree with waite in the middle and he has done his job up forward the last two weeks but with fev back this week hes not needed so move him to the middle.

As good as lappin was up forward yesterday we need him down back. we just need a bit more run from the backline and if pagan does decide to play him up forward next week either betts or longmiur will have to b dropped cause we dont need 3 small forwards in the team.

The above three are all under-done at the moment and it's unlikely Francou will ever return to his best (which was miles ahead of Stevens' best by the way.)

But fully-fit, Roger James has been our best midfielder for the past two years and I'd take him any day over Nick Stevens - last year's PF showed just how good Roger is.

Also, Kane Cornes.

Name one who's better. James? Burgoyne? Francou? They aren't in the same league, and last time I checked Tredrea ain't a midfielder.

We won a Premiership the year after Stevens left us for Greener pastures, i hope the grass he is chewing on now taste's sweet.

James is by far a hard, tougher player than Stevens will ever be!! Lots of possessions dont mean jack $hit.

And Burgoyne and James are one thing Stevens will never be........"Premiership Midfield Players"!!

Francou has been runner up in the Brownlow twice, and Nick has.............Not
Woewodin won the Brownlow that makes him a ten times better player than Francou. Pis.s off back to your own miserable board.

he left because he wanted to go home ...how anyone can cope with living in that stink hole is amazing to anyone who never had the misfortune of being born there

I think in general both Carlton and Port supporters are too biased with regards to Nick. Port dont see any positives and Carlton dont see the negatives.

My opinion on him is that he has heaps of ability but has only reached about 70% of what he can. Having said this I have seen signs this year that he is going to evolve to be an honest aswell as skilled player.

In a few games he has been very hard and consistent in winning clearances, something that I doubt he did at Port. However he still cracks under pressure at times. When he cracks his usually perfect disposal becomes erratic and his attatack on the ball drops off.

I have no doubts he could be a regualr all Australian but he has to do much more work on his mind. He is in my opinion emotionally weaker than the elite in the competition. That being said he is still young as has as much potential as most of the elite.

Lets all start looking at Stevens with open eyes. This means not looking at stats or past performance but following his games without prior judgement.

He is no spring chicken. He has been around a while now. Most of the elite you would be talking about would be alot younger than him.
