I don't understant how a guy like him can be overweight at this stage of the season. If he was just coming back from an injury then it would be fair enough but he has had almost a full pre season and should be in relatively good shape by now.
I think that fitness is a major issue at our club. Last year we lost lots of games by small margins and in both games this year we have gotten worse as the game goes.

very true, and i thought that was an area we focused on getting Justin Cordy. Seems odd we can't run games out at all

Maybe a serious neck injury?

it's very upsetting.

the only time this fella has played 100% for us was at the beginning of last year. he was fit and fast and firing. at 100% he is a top line player.

Do we just have to be patient, like Houla said?

stevo is not interested, never team orientated, never mans up and only plays well when players go head to head on him no tagging... he doesn't look after himself, drinks and smokes then you wonder why he isn't captain... for someone on 500k-600k he is very average... he is laughing all the way to the bank....

I've seen Stevo having a smoke outside an Italian Restaurant on Rathdowne street.

never been a fan of Stevens. He costs us a few goals a game with his lack of pace and manning up. His attitude is terrible. I would like to see him traded

Stevo always looks overweight, even when he's 100% fit. That's just him. He does some pretty insane gut-running at times, even while looking overweight. I don't think that in itself is a problem.

However, I think a key problem Carlton has at the moment, and Stevo is *part* of it, is the lack of pressure our midfield applies. There's no point in lambasting a rookie like Jamison when the opposition midfielders are getting free-reign.

Stevo never has/never will put much defensive pressure on. His tackling stats are very weak for a guy who plays in the midfield all the time. Judd, especially at 80% fitness, is jogging alongside the opposition when they have the ball. Murphy is physically weak and gets beaten too often in tackles. Basically, I think opposition midfields at the moment must thoroughly enjoy the space and freedom the Blues give 'em.

It's not all Stevo's fault, but it's something I'd love to see him work on fixing.

i don't reckon he looked overweight at all when he started 2007.

also, i think the problem we have is that we lose before the first bounce. our team looks at each other and say 'we just need to be patient'.
