Am I right in guessing it will be against Hawthorn down in Tasmania?

Also, who would we drop...possibly Torney? Bock?

Gee I'ts gonna be hard to get him in as the above have been great, but if you have a fit Stiffy, you can't leave him out of the team.

Bock fills a key position role, so no chance of him going.

Torney's been one of our best this year.

Of the current side, I'd drop Doughty but another injury could decide.

Agree no way would the AFC drop Bock or Torney. Depends they may want him to play across HF when he comes back.

It's still two and a half weeks away so it's a bit early to call, the way we are going with suspensions and injuries the selectors might have to make a tough call, who to drop from a winning side?

I would probably agree with Doughty though.

I am a dogga fan. i have been surprised and a little disappointed he has not been used more, but I wouldn't rush the Stiffmeister in. Do not underestimate how well Dogga has played when he has been his chance. His decision making and use of the ball have been first class this year.

Broken legs invariably mean a slow return to form. Give him a few games back at the Maggies to get ready for the year ahead.

I would have also liked some more game time for Reilly last week in particular, but the selectors know better than me. it is hard to get game time now that we have a midfield made up of Edwards, Roo, Thommo, Birdman, Mattner, Goody etc.

Anyone notice Skippy got little gametime last week? Didn't come on until late in the last quarter.

Reilly and Potenschel will tredding rocky ground when Stiffy comes back as well. Doughty's been pretty impressive IMO this year bar a few shockers (Collingwood and Geelong).

Reilly seems to be struggling with his muscle development and has lost a little pace and balance as a result. Still showed encouraging signs last week, but he's 21 and needs to really assert himself on the game. NC seems to be holding him back a little unfortunately.

Good commonsense all round.

Craigy was saying on telly tonight that he wouldn't be frightened to bring Stiffy back in straight away.

Personally I would like to see him have a couple of runs under his belt with the local Maggies to get a bit of form up first.

Mind you, Craigy has a slightly better coaching record than me. :)

dont mean to be be a prick but why would they even consider dropping torney or bock for stiffy ?

surely it will be another player of his type to be shown the door, like a Doughty,Skipworth, or even reilly

Have not heard anything more about why Ben Hart came off against Richmond but it would not suprise me if he misses some games in the second half of the year with niggling injuries.

If that is the case, Torney could replace Hart and Stiffy could take Torney's position.

Whatever the case Stiffy (may need a game or two in SANFL) should be in the starting 18.

yeah na i didn't mean to drop torney or bock, both have been awesome, was just throwing around names ;)

Yeah NC did say he wants Stiff straight back in the side though.

Id err on thes ide of caution and not rush him back; but when we do probably drop Doughty.
I agree - be very conservative - is there a need to rush him back - are we getting thrashed each week???

Doughty is a Craig favourite - it will depend on whether he plays Stiffy back or forward - if forward I would suggest Skippy to make way - he will struggle with the pace and pressure of finals footy.

I would have to agree with this one. Robert Walls is carrying on like a pork chop with the statement that we are bigger. BULLOCKS!!!!!!

There are only a small number of players that have actually bulked up. They are Bock, Perrie and to lesster extent Reilly and Hentschel. Everyone else is the same size they were last year.

For the life of me I can't undrstand all this "they have bulked up dramatically over the pre-season" crap.

yeah he should play-out the Freo game in the SANFL but should come back against the Hawks. I think that we will win that game, but we don't have a good record down in Tassie.

Power of the media to raise issues for discussion - I'm sure thaey sit around a table and say what contoversey or issue can we run with this week to sell papers, and have us watch TV sports programs.

Depends on who you mean by that WW.

In support of what you say, I've been told by a guy working at the 'tiser that the editors dictate what will be written in that rag with the sole purpose of causing controversy - controversy sells papers whether it has any basis in fact or not. :(

Of course no surpise there - why do you think Rucci writes what he does ?

Despite protestations everyone still reads and complains about him.

How did KG succeed? - By being contraversial, outspoken and a goose.

The formula is as simple and ancient as time - and we all gobble it up ;)
