I don't think so. There is most certainly a place for Stokes in the team.![]()

LifeSpan-Void said:see, that is where you don't understand... Geelong, in it's current incarnation, is not a smart club.

haze.13 said:Hmm... I can't see you guys trading him, not after just the one season.
Having followed the boy since he came down to adelaide from darwin with wwtfc as a 16 year old (i think). I can tell you know that he is a legit 'gun'. His fitness is - and always has been - his main weakness. With another pre-season under his belt he could become a genuine midfielder with the cats. Despite the fact that he has been earmarked as a small forward he is more than that. Last season he spent the entire year as a defender, almost quarterbacking the play, and then rotating into the midfield - ala Hodge with the hawks this season.

DanA said:He could potentially get a run through the centre but he cannot play back at AFL level. His opponent would move straight to full forward. He is simply to small to play their.
He will most likely play his career in the forward line. Looks like he can make it but I doubt he will ever be a full time midfeilder.
haze.13 said:Yes Asty, Stokesy could do worse than to model his work-rate and pressure on Bode, and agreed, DanA it's highly unlikely that we'll see him floating around much in the defensive 50 due to his size.
I guess my point was aimed at emphasising the mere fact that the lad has the skills to do more than just play as a small forward. Even though he probably won't![]()
