The greed of the VRC and AJC knows no end. Now decided to charge $29.95 to use the Studbook.

Along with charging the $30, they have also introduced ads all over the site, from at least 10 different companies.

Greedy bastards.

It's a disgrace although the site probably does involve a fair bit of work, although $30 to use it does seem a little bit steep.

Terrific resource though and there is nothing else that compares to it which makes the decision to become a subscriber-only site even more disappointing, but if you look at it, it was inevitable.
